Something that is very close to our hearts here at Ruth Lee is supporting the volunteers that make up the rescue community both in the UK and worldwide. Over the years we have helped many different teams by donating manikins for training or money to support with projects or other equipment and we’re very proud to be able to offer this support year on year to those that need it.
But right now, there is a whole community that needs help to survive under incredibly sad and scary circumstances.
After much consideration, we have decided to donate the full Volunteer Heroes Fund to the following three charities offering support to those most in need in Ukraine…
UNICEF – the UN’s children’s charity, which is helping to ensure families have clean water and food and that child health and protection services continue.
International Rescue Committee UK – The IRC is on the ground in Poland, working with local partners in Poland and Ukraine, to quickly mobilise resources that will provide life-saving support to civilians forced to flee their homes.
Association of Ukrainians In Great Britain – the largest representative body for Ukrainians in the UK, which has so far raised more than £1.1m, which will help fund medicine, food and other essentials for those in need.
Applicants of the fund have been notified and we are very grateful for the overwhelming support for this decision.
