On Friday 22nd March we were over the moon to be named International Business of the Year, at the Federation of Small Business (FSB) Celebrating Small Business Awards (Welsh Area Finals).
We are pleased to be celebrating further awards success this month, as our continued growth in international markets is acknowledged and celebrated at a second Awards Ceremony in less than 6 months.
The FSB Celebrating Small Business Awards recognise the best small businesses and the self-employed from right across the UK, from every sector and industry, shining a light on some of the best, most innovative and most determined small businesses.
Our win at the Welsh area finals, means that we now progress to the National awards which are held in London in May 2019.
Ruth Lee Ltd have produced manikins for the UK’s emergency services for almost 30 years, as well as countless other industry sectors. But in recent years, demand for our extensive range of rescue training manikins has grown world-wide, to the extent that we now export 70% of production abroad. In less than three years, the export business has more than doubled and the company now exports to all corners of the globe including North and South America, Australia, many European countries, the Middle East and several Asian countries.
Managing Director, Paul McDonnell said,
“I am immensely proud of the Ruth Lee Ltd team and what we have achieved in recent years. Our export success is built upon strong foundations of quality and customer service – our international customers know and trust us to deliver the best possible products for rescue training.
Our Export Sales going into 2019 have already been very strong, and we have many visits and exhibitions planned for the year ahead, including Europe, Asia and South America too. We also have a Conference planned for our Asian Distributors to be held in Malaysia. Our aim has always been to support our distributers, enabling them to be successful and the ‘go to’ company in terms of rescue training equipment within their own countries.
We work with a fantastic network of Distributors across the world to supply manikins to countless rescue organisations. We must thank them for their continued dedication to rescue training.”
